Do you offer In Clinic Appointments?

Yes. We offer all patients the option of in person appointments to make care accessible. When you arrive please check in with reception or scan the QR code on the front page of our website or on our door. All concerns that need to be examined must be done in clinic for the best care. Some virtual appointments may require a follow up in person visit at the discretion of your Naturopathic Doctor. If you are sick and need to be seen please wear a mask and check in by calling reception so we can advise you when to enter and bring you straight to an exam room to protect other patients in the clinic. If you have an acute health concern that is not an emergency please advise our reception so we can prioritize the scheduling of your appointment. If you are experiencing a medical emergency please call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room or urgent care centre.

Do you offer Virtual Care or Telehealth?

Yes. We offer virtual and telehealth consultations to all our patients to improve access to care. All new patients must be seen in clinic for their second consultation following their first virtual or in clinic intake appointment as it includes a physical exam and initiation of a treatment plan.  Follow up visits may be virtual, telehealth or in clinic by patient choice. Health concerns that require an exam or in person follow up must be done in clinic so we can provide you with our best care. If you are having a virtual appointment you will receive an Appointment Reminder from us 30 minutes before your scheduled appointment time. Please enter the waiting room a few minutes before your appointment and make sure your audio and video are functioning well. If you are having a phone appointment, please ensure that your phone is set to accept calls from blocked callers. Your Naturopathic Doctor will do their best to arrive on time for your appointment however the nature of a patient concern ahead of your appointment may at times require the Doctor to spend more time than scheduled to be able to provide the best care leading to a delay in the arrival for your visit; we appreciate your patience ahead of time if they are running a bit behind and will do our best to inform you if it will be more than 10 minutes.

What types of treatment modalities do Naturopathic Doctors use?

Naturopathic Doctors are trained in many treatment modalities. They may use any of the following often an integration of multiple treatment methods:

  • Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is one of the oldest forms of medicine in history. TCM approaches health from a very different philosophy than Western Medicine. TCM philosophy believes that parts of the body must be in energetic balance to achieve wellness and works to restore the balance of yin, yang, qi, essence and body in the body. Chinese Medicine involves the use of acupuncture, diet and Traditional Chinese plant based formulas to treat disease.
  • Acupuncture is one of the oldest medical treatments in the world, originating in China more than 2,000 years ago. Acupuncture involves penetrating the skin with thin, metallic needles that are manipulated by the hands or by a light electrical current to stimulate acupuncture points for therapeutic purposes. Acupuncture is used to treat pain, regulate or correct the flow of qi (body's vital energy) and to restore balance.
  • Botanical Medicine is the use of whole or components of plants as natural medicines.
  • Clinical Nutrition involves the use of biochemistry and physiological scientific knowledge of nutrients for the purpose of supporting health through diet or nutritional supplementation. Naturopathic Doctor's are trained to assess a person's nutritional terrain through diet assessment and / or laboratory testing. They then work toward helping an individual regain optimal nutrition or normal physiological function.
  • Naturopathic Spinal Manipulation provides diverse techniques to address of musculoskeletal pain and muscle tension.
  • Naturopathic Counselling is the assessment of risk factors and the implication of programs to modify behaviour while emphasizing “self-responsibility”. Mental attitudes and emotional states may influence your health. Counseling, mindfulness, meditation, stress management, and other therapies are used to help patients improve their overall sense of well being.
  • IV Therapy is the injection of sterile solutions containing therapeutic agents.
  • Pharmaceutical medicine involves the treatment of symptoms and ailments using prescription pharmaceutical medicines. Our Naturopathic Doctor's have prescriptive privilege's in the Province of B.C.
