Welcome to the Vancouver Island Naturopathic Clinic Inc.
We’re glad you’re here. At Vancouver Island Naturopathic Clinic Inc., we aim to make becoming a patient feel clear, supportive, and straightforward. Our care is relationship-based and personalized, and we take the time to understand you or your child fully before making recommendations.
Becoming a Patient
Becoming a patient at our clinic is a two-step process, beginning with an initial consultation followed by a second visit that includes examination and care planning.
Your Initial Consultation
Your first appointment is a comprehensive intake with one of our licensed Naturopathic Doctors.
-
Adults (ages 13+): up to 75 minutes
-
Children (ages 0–12): up to 60 minutes
During this visit, your Naturopathic Doctor will take time to understand your health history and current concerns. This includes reviewing your personal, medical, and family history; discussing medications and supplements; reviewing any prior testing or investigations and exploring your health goals in depth.
To help us prepare, please bring any recent laboratory results, imaging reports, or relevant medical records, along with a current list of medications and supplements for yourself or your child.
Laboratory Testing and Imaging
If clinically appropriate, your Naturopathic Doctor may recommend laboratory testing or imaging as part of your care. These services are private pay and not covered by MSP, though many extended health plans may provide reimbursement depending on your coverage. These are not direct billed to most plans.
Your Second Consultation and Physical Exam
Your second visit is typically scheduled 1–2 weeks after your initial consultation. This appointment includes a physical examination, review of any ordered investigations and marks the beginning of your individualized treatment plan.
When indicated, our Naturopathic Doctors also offer pap testing, breast or chest exams, pelvic exams, prostate exams, and testicular exams (a chaperone will be present for all sensitive male exams). We support participation in BC Cancer Agency Pap and Mammogram Screening Programs as part of routine preventive care.
Individualized and Ongoing
Care at our clinic is collaborative and tailored to your needs, preferences, and goals. Treatment plans are individualized and may evolve over time as your health changes.
Follow-up visits vary in length, starting at 10-15 minutes, and are scheduled based on your care plan. Appointment times are estimated, and billing is based on the actual time spent with your practitioner. We provide care for patients of all ages and genders and are committed to offering neuroaffirming, inclusive care.
Booking Your Appointment
If you haven’t yet scheduled your initial consultation, you can book online at any time. If you have questions or would like help choosing the right practitioner, our friendly reception team is happy to assist.
Prescription Refills
Prescription renewals require an appointment with your Naturopathic Doctor. Refill requests without an appointment are subject to a prescription refill fee. These fees are not covered by extended health plans and cannot be direct billed. Payment is required in advance before prescriptions are faxed to your pharmacy. To avoid running out of medication, we recommend booking refill appointments well in advance.

Some services are not covered by extended health plans and may incur additional fees. These include:
-
Completion of third-party forms
-
Notes for work or school
