Cardiovascular Health

Our Naturopathic Physicians provide primary naturopathic health care services to individuals with cardiovascular health concerns, one of the leading causes of mortality and morbidity. We offer information on the most current testing, evaluation and naturopathic treatments available for various heart related concerns. Although CVD appears to have a strong genetic component, early detection and reduction of risk factors may help to slow down the progression and long term sequelae of illness. Our doctors are happy to work collaboratively with your cardiologist or primary provider.

Our Doctors offer naturopathic care for:

  • High blood pressure
  • Angina
  • High cholesterol and abnormal lipoprotein profiles
  • Diabetes Type 2 and insulin resistance
  • Healthy weight loss
  • Supportive care of arrhythmias
  • Stroke and heart disease prevention and recovery support
  • Peripheral vascular disease

Laboratory Testing

Beyond basic cholesterol and blood sugar testing, our clinic offers more advanced screening tools. This provides for an extensive evaluation of numerous biomarkers of abnormal lipoprotein metabolism and oxidation, inflammation, coagulation factors, glomerular filtration and glucose levels. We can also assess the levels of key nutrients such as magnesium, iron, CoQ10 and antioxidants such as Vitamin E. These tests include:

  • Lipoprotein Fractionation, Particle Number and Oxidation Profile
  • L(p)a, ApoB, Apo A-1
  • CRP-hs and Homocysteine
  • Cystatin C
  • Fibrinogen and Blood Viscosity Profile
  • Hemoglobin A1c, Fasting and Non-fasting Insulin
  • Micronutrient Profile
  • Omega 3:6:9 Ratio
  • PULS testing
  • EKG/ECG and Holter Monitoring Referrals
